something is wrong
Published on March 27, 2005 By _jason_walker In IconPackager
I downloaded the free version of Iconpackager, and when I select one of the regular icon sets in the program. I click Apply..and then it seems like my screen won't refresh. the Icons never change, to get things back to normal, i have to logout and then logback in. I never had problems liek this before on my desktop computering IP. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

What else happens except that your Icons don't change?? Or what exactly is the reason why you have to logoff and then login again?

When you choose an IconPackager package from within the program it is important that you first hit 'Load' and then 'Apply'.

You can also try and rebuild the Icon Cache (Tools > rebuild icon cache).

the screen won't refresh, i can move the window..but the spot where it was doesn't disappear..there is just a series of spots on the screen where the window was

i'll try that.

ok, here's where im at now, I reinstalled the free version of IP. I opened up the program and did the rebuild icon cache...and it messed up on me.. I had to log out and come back in. I then openedup IP again. and selected one of the provided iconpackages. It messedup on me again. So i logged out. and came back in, it changed my icons when i came back. I think there is something really wrong with my icon cache because I can do 'repair icon cache' in tweakui and it crashes on me.

The only thing that worked was creating a new account and changingthe icons over in it. I decided to scrap my first account figuring it was corrupted. Well just as i was getting all my stuff straightened out in the new account. the same thing started happening in the new account.

I am not sure how thsi was the problem, but I installed the older version of tweakui..and then iconpackager works fine now. No freeze/no screen refresh problem.
